iPhone 3G Vs iTouch
The iPhone is less money than the new itouch but the iTouch has less features, don't get why someone would buy the itouch when the could get a 3g without a phone plan for cheaper. IPhone is meant for calling, video, web streaming, calling, music, and games.And the iTouch is only meant for music, video, and games.
You must activate your iPhone and AT+T contract immediately upon purchase from the store, you can't buy an iPhone without a calling plan. The reason for this (and the reason the iPhone is cheaper than the iTouch) is that much of the cost of the iPhone is subsidized by AT+T, who has exclusive rights to iPhone plans. So, Apple reduces the upfront cost of the iPhone, and then recoups that money from AT+T over the length of your overpriced contract with them. Basically, a portion of your cell phone bill is getting kicked back to Apple over the length of your contract. The iTouch has no such arrangement, because it does not use any kind of phone or data plan. So, Apple must charge full price for the iTouch directly from the consumer at purchase time.
The iPhone has the same amount of memory as the iTouch, but since the iPhone is not just an ipod, it uses almost half that that memory which leaves only about 4G left for music (assuming you don't use any memory for documents). The itouch is mainly for music and you will use all of that memory. So basically the iphone has 4G for music.
